Contact Improvisation und Body-Mind Centering® - Einsteiger*innen

In this beginner's course, you will learn the basic principles of contact improvisation and Body-Mind Centering®. You don't need any prior knowledge—just curiosity and a joy to learn and move!

Starting from the experience of your own physicality in movement, you will discover various ways of dancing together through physical contact with another person.

The central themes of the lessons, which build on each other, are coming into contact and staying in contact with the rolling contact point, leaning into each other, sharing weight, and some “lifts.” The classes include both solo and partner elements.

Body-Mind Centering® opens up a space in which you can not only rediscover yourself, but also learn to develop a functional movement organization. Especially when in contact with others, it is important to organize yourself functionally and clearly. This is supported by working with early childhood movement patterns.

We learn about different movement qualities of the body systems and use them to clarity our nonverbal communication in the dance. The course focuses in particular on the functional organization of the bones, the elasticity and dimensionality of the fascial system, and working with the sensory organs—especially the skin—in order to create a solid foundation in the ten classes on which safe but also joyful dance experiences can arise in jams.
