Pelvis - Experiential Anatomy

- Pelvis - Experiential Anatomy

Strength, Elasticity, Fullness and Sensuality

The pelvis is our center of gravity and seat of the sexual organs. The pelvis plays a central role in movements. The reproductive and excretory organs are inscribed by our society and during our socialization, which can lead to the fact that we are not fully at home in our pelvis. Movements can be limited, or rather require more effort than needed.

Our very personal embodiment of our pelivs with its multi-layered structures is the main theme of the workshop: the bones as our outer container, the ligaments and fascia that give internal structure to the organs and our organis, the including muscles and the glands, that can bring quick energy changes.
Anatomical images enhance the personal focus and somatization of our pelvis beyond external attributions. Embodiment takes place in the personal connection with the physical structure. The pelvis can be experienced as a source of inspiration for movement research and dance improvisation. Contact improvisation allows to expierence the pelvis in contact and powerful and elastic, without diving into the sexual. There will be time for own integration through writing and painting as well as verbal exchange about our personal-social experiences such as sex/gender roles. The workshop is explicitly designed for people of all sex and gender.
