Introduction to Somatics
Somatics deals with the potential of our sensing and sensed body in various approaches to body awareness: for example, with accessible sensing and movement abilities, with physical constitution in experiential anatomy, or with the interaction between the organic self-organization of our body and what we do deliberately. In this respect, somatics deals with aspects of ‘having a body’, the voluntary access to our body, but above all with the qualities of ‘being a body’, the physically felt dimension of our physical existence.
In this event, the basics of somatics will be explained, its potential effects demonstrated, and illustrated with simple examples and exercises.
