- Bloody Rhythms
NERKA - an interactive performance dedicated to the menstrual cycle (in german)
This event is a performance, developed from research of the menstrual cycle and will be shown as part of the Performing Arts Festival.
It will be take place twice, on 31st of May in english and on 2nd of June in german.
What is bloody rhytms?
Bloody rhythms - some are plagued by their monthly blood, others hide it shamefully and others proudly let it flow freely. Menstruation moves between hype and taboo, out of the shadows and into the public eye. We are interested in the questions: What do we embody in uterus and ovaries? What stories are inscribed in them?
Period is political because the historical and political inscriptions make direct experience more complicated. In this interactive performance, we share our practice of re-embodiment and invite you to get in touch with your own cycle through a sensing, seeing and moving.
NERKA is an artist collective and explores the perception of the body from a feminist perspective.

Jennie practices and teaches contact improvisation and somatic bodywork. Her artistic work and teaching focus on the experience of activity and rest, regeneration, appreciation and self-care, individuality, communication and community.
