In ‘wild listening’ we explore the dimension of listening in our individual somatic experience as well as vocal and physical expression. In doing so, we incorporate the aspect of “wildness” beyond cultural norms. In our context, ‘wildness’ means being in a very lively, conscious awareness of the sensory organs... Physical sensation, hearing, giving voice.
Exploring ‘wildness’ means first letting go of stress, allowing physical rigidity to soften and listening to what wants to emerge.
‘Wildness’ encompasses loud expressiveness as well as the experience of tenderness and delicacy. Deep physical connection and even the experience of silence are possible.
In ‘wild listening’ you can expand your vocal range and thus also your personal expression. Growing physical awareness leads to increased presence and vitality, to a more diverse and refined experience of the inner and outer world.
What we do in the course:
On the BODY LEVEL, we will:
- release everyday stress with concrete physical exercises
- explore physical aspects of rigidity and numbness and transform them into somatic experience and thus into liveliness
- give the nervous system space to regulate itself - through work with the vagus nerve, the body, breath and voice
- go into expression and inner listening
On the VOICE LEVEL, we will:
- explore physical resonance spaces and use them to develop sound
- activate the pelvic floor and diaphragm and connect them with breath work, vocal expression and voice modulation
- develop our voices through active listening
- improvise with our voices
In the ‘wild dimension’ of the voice, we go beyond purely aesthetic norms of sound. We explore nuances and possibilities of expression in connection with physical resonance spaces and a ‘listening’ awareness. Conscious work with the nervous system supports the body-voice connection with all loud, soft, breathy, awkward and strange sounds in various timbres.
The exercises take place in groups and in pairs. No prior knowledge is necessary. All that is needed is a certain curiosity about diverse vocal sounds – your own and those of others.

Hannah Breithaupt
She has been intensively involved in bodywork and voice work for many years. This includes 10 years of individual voice and singing lessons, training in ‘Holistic Voice and Singing Work according to Carien Wijnen’ and further training in ‘Somatic Voice’, as well as involvement in ‘Roy Hart Work’ in a year-long group and individual seminars.
She also has training in ‘MOSH Vibe’: group work with physical methods according to Ilan Stephanie. The training was preceded by years of participation and assistance in annual groups and individual courses on topics such as: individual and collective trauma work, research on life energy and somatic experience, and the energetic potential of the female reproductive organs.
Self-study of literature on trauma and somatics, polyvagal theory (Peter Levine, Stephen Porges, Laurence Heller, etc.) and energetic work with female organs (Tami Lynn Kent).
Her passion lies in the connection between body and voice work and research on the nervous system for (self-)healing processes, self-empowerment, the development of one's own expression and the inner experience of connectedness and vitality.
