- Q&A Somatic Basic Year German / Training to become a Somatic Movement Educator (ISMETA certified)
Online Q&A with Marion Evers
This online Q&A session provides an opportunity to ask questions - both content-related and practical - about the upcoming Somatic Basisc Year in German (starting September 7, 2026) as well as the subsequent training program to become a Somatic Movement Educator (ISMETA certified).
Somatic movement education is an educational approach centered on human connection.
In the training program, you will learn to teach somatics and embodiment in an authentic and well-founded way.
The Somatic Basic Year lays the groundwork for this: connecting with your own body and gaining practical experience with fundamental, evolutionarily based principles of movement.
After the Somatic Basic Year, participants can continue their path and take the Somatic Pedagogy Training which focuses on practical deepening and the ability to teach somatic work, thereby creating the prerequisites for initial professional certification and recognition by the International Association of Somatic Practitioners (ISMETA).
The Somatic Pedagogy Training also provides an insight into the history and philosophy of somatics, its theories, principles, delimitations and its critical reflection within our current cultural context (Critical Somatics). Through the analysis of human movement development and through the specific and synergistic attributes of the somatic methods taught, the material can be absorbed and integrated in an embodied and cognitive way, thus supporting sense-making, choice-making and acting in the world. On the one hand, understanding the principles of the individual methods gives students the opportunity to survey a large part of the somatic professional field. On the other hand, the student gains the ability to use these principles as a basis for their own authorship and application.
The next Somatic Basic Year will start September 7th, 2026 and will be held in German.
Next start in English will be in early 2027 >> learn more about the Somatic Basic Year in English
This Q&A in German provides an opportunity to ask questions about the training content, organization, and practical applications, as well as to meet some of the faculty and potential fellow students in advance.

What is the Somatic Basiscs Training?
In the interplay of different methods such as Continuum, Feldenkrais Method, Middendorf's Breath Experience, Body-Mind Centering®, experiential anatomy, Authentic Movement and Somatic Yoga, experiences and cognitive processes arise that are of great value for one's own development.
On the basis of each content-related module focus, we research and experience the corresponding body systems, effective principles, movement patterns, biological and emotional stages of development as well as their personal and social relevance. We make use of the fact that our physical development is in direct connection and interaction with our development of consciousness. Experience and reflection give us access to this. We create a space of emotional security and integrate group dynamic processes as support in the individual learning process.
