Diversity and Balance

- Diversity and Balance

Four days with BMC® and IBMT
4 days, 12 classes, 13 teachers,

After a break of two years the "Diversity and Balance" days will finally take place again! We are looking forward to invite together with 13 Berlin BMC® and IBMT teachers* to 12 classes.

This year we would like to focus on the topic of resilience and resilience skills. Resilience means the ability to face challenges, to regulate oneself and to emerge stronger from challenges. After the various states of excitement and difficulties of the last years the different classes offer bodily experience of nourishing oneself, drawing strength and possibilities of encountering oneself.

In Body-Mind Centering® (BMC®) and Integrative Bodywork and Movement Therapy (IBMT) we explore dynamic connections between body and mind, consciousness, thoughts and feelings. Through anatomical information, as well as through movement, touch and the finest sensing, structures in the body are made tangible and enable a deeper, more subtle experience of one's own body and our relation to our environment. Through early childhood developmental movement patterns we explore movement from single-celled organisms to walking beings. Individual stages of development intertwine and provide the ground for our actions today.

All classes are open to people with and without prior experience in BMC® or IBMT. It is possible to book classes individually.

Monday 28.2.22

9h-11h
Arrival – Bones with Heike Kuhlmann & Nina Wehnert
Bones form an inner framework. Their structures are in constant change - both inside and outside, in their surrounding fascial network. Their elasticity, stability, resilience, and inherent potential for change create important conditions for resilience.

11.30h-13.30h
Fluids
with Jennie Zimmermann
The embodiment of fluids can support us to perceive mobility, but also stability within oneself. I invite you to exlore the fluids within yourself and the environment through touch, movement and improvisation.

15h-17h
Wings and Roots
with Nina Wehnert
The sphenoid is a very central bone in our scull. It relates to our senses, is embryologically part of the spine and looks like wings. Exploring it’s position and place offers alignment to our presend and our interrelationship with ourselves and our environment.

Tuesday 28.2.22

9h-11h
Der Vagus Nerv with Lambrini Konstantinou
It is the longest cranial nerve in our body (from the brain stem to the intestine) and is a part of our parasympathetic nervous system. It is responsible for the innervation of many vital organs, and is involved in their functions.
It plays an important role in digestion, regeneration, rest and rehabilitation of our body.

11.30h-13.30h
Nourishing ourselves with Maren Hillert
Wake up your liveliness and give it space - through focused body-awareness, self-touch and initially slow movement as well as through playful exploration of your closer or optionally further environment - with all of your senses.

15h-17.30h
Communities with Julia Kleinknecht & Nina Spiri
We are exploring our immune system by diving into cellular communities and their interaction. Discovering our „swarm intelligence“, interacting and acting together. Through play we experience exchange and friction. It’s about making choices, again and again, overcoming the feeling of separation and finding connection.

Wednesday 1.3.22

9h-11h
Acting - via the hands with Christian Meier
Acting hands treat sensitive, living structures. Sensing hands sense their connections, their temporal, spatial and social context. Sensing action and acting sensing. This class is about our hands, their anatomical structure, their interplay within the reflexes, their connections to the internal organs.

11.30h-13.30h
Support precedes Movement with Heike Kuhlmann
`Yield, Push, Reach and Pull´ are the movement pattern, that support the developmental process till walking. They are one base for later movement and behaviour pattern. This class spends time to work with `Yield, Push, Reach and Pull´ as support for the personal and common resilience and agency.

15h-17h
Questions & Answers with Julia Kleinknecht & Nina Spiri
We will play and experiment with the Body-Mind Tarot - a BMC® inspired tarot deck. After traveling inwards and tuning in with ourselves to see what questions arise, we will use the cards to self-reflect, share (touch and words) and move with our questions and answers.

Thursday 2.3.22

9h-11h Where am I? with Odile Seitz-Walser
We have special sensores, that are telling us about our position in space and inform us about our relation to gravity. We explore propioception sensibility as foundation for all experiences.

11.30h-13.30h
Space
with Ka Rustler
Exploring responsive boundaries and margins based on our cellular consciousness. We dive into full bodied experiences relating to our sense of safety and calmness in the world.

15h-17h
Closure// Resilience in daily life with Heike Kuhlmann, Nina Wehnert together with all Teachers
In this final class we pick up themes from previous classes and gather how we can nourish, regain and/ or build our own resilience capacity through Body-Mind Centering® and IBMT. In a very practical way, we put together approaches that can be helpful in everyday life.
